Madame Rose Kriek Brut Xtra Limited Edtion

The cherry beer Kriek Brut and the red-brown beer Goudenband, the fixtures of the Oudenaard brewery Liefmans, form the basis of the new Kriek Brut Xtra. A fine tribute to the admirable Rosa Merckx who meant a lot to the Belgian beer world as our country's first female brewmaster.

This Madame Rose Kriek-Brut Xtra is a limited blend of cherry beer aged on cherries for several years. The oldest cherry dates from 2014, matured in wooden Pinot Noir wine barrels and was blended with cherry beers from 2018 to 2020.

A beer aged for several months in bourbon barrels was also added. The whole is finished off with a small percentage of Golden Band that has already matured for 2 years in an old Cherry cask, whose intense flavour adds even more depth to the final blend. The result is a unique beer in which fresh-sour flavours of cherries harmonise perfectly with the warm notes of wood and vanilla.
